Funding

CAREERS clients James Martinelli and Tom Adimari thank Natalie Sokol from Pepsi EnAble for sponsoring our Annual Anniversary event since 2006.

CAREERS is a 501(C)3 private not-for-profit agency that receives funding from several sources enabling us to provide free services to clients and employers.

On average, 88% of our operating funds come from state and federal sources, including Adult Career and Continuing Education Services – Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR), the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and the NY State Office of Mental Health (OMH). In addition, 12% of our funding comes from donations from individuals and grants from foundations, corporations or organizations.

On average, 84% of our expenses provide direct services to clients, while only 13% fund general and administrative expenses and 3% to fundraising.
